Katharina Gifford was raised in Midcoast Maine and has studied at the Maine College of Art and University of Southern Maine, trained classically at the Florence Academy of Art, and was taught color by Maine artist Ronald Frontin. Having always been influenced by the old masters, contemporary artists, and the Maine environment, she currently continues to craft her technique in the realist tradition.
